About Macaroon Jewellery
Macaroon jewellery was born from the single belief that timeless jewellery should not be driven by throw away trends, but be beautiful, simple, well crafted and above all something you will treasure forever. Designed, made and sourced by ourselves each individual piece of Macaroon jewellery has its own story that we would like to share with you.
What we believe
We are passionate about design, sourcing beautiful materials and making stylish and sophisticated jewellery with an attention to detail. Our handmade ethos drives us to experiment with new techniques and materials that make Macaroon designs unique. By using carefully selected semi precious stones, Swarovski glass beads, Thai and sterling silver charms and chains we create pieces that are designed to be kept and worn all year round, mixing and matching with both your winter and summer wardrobes.

What inspires us?
So where do we get our ideas from? Being based in Brighton creativity and inspiration is literally on our doorstep! But it is our travels further a-field that make our jewellery unique. From the markets of Marrakesh to Brazilian bazaars; we travel extensively around the world to source materials and bring you new inspired looks and colour mixes. We personally source the highest quality components from Thailand, Mexico, America and Europe with inspiration for our designs found on our travels to Japan, Brazil, Argentina, St Tropez... and even Reykjavik! But with so many places yet to explore, it’s hard for us to pick where we will go next to bring you beautiful unique Macaroon jewellery designs!
We are often asked where our name came from... we’ll we’d be lying if we didn’t admit to loving cake! But not just any cake, specifically small, round macaroons that are crisp and colourful, we think they are simply a French work of art! A romantic gift we have always bought, macaroons are a beautiful metaphor for our designs and a concept we believe in - delicate, simple, colourful and carefully crafted with love. Believe us, we’ve tried many macaroons over the years and are yet to discover a finer sample than those of the French pâtisserie, Ladurée...but believe us, we’ll keep trying!
Who are Macaroon?
Sarah Linard – Co-founder
Before co-founding Macaroon Jewellery, Sarah worked as Head of Jewellery Design for a Sussex based company supplying the latest fashion ranges to some of the biggest high street and designer retailers. She has worked on many brands, designing ranges and travelling the world sourcing components and suppliers for over 14 years. She has a love of mixing materials, all things colourful and a dream to create beautiful, delicate jewellery that makes people smile.
Karl Salter – Co-founder
Armed with crayons at an early age, Karl has spent the best part of his life scribbling, drawing or making! Having a varied career from Product to Exhibition Design, Graphics to Web development, before co-founding Macaroon Karl was specialising in Visual Communications, with a ‘webby’ twist! The ‘techno-bod’ behind the Macaroon brand, Karl designed and maintains our website, sorts out the PR and marketing, can often be seen making lunch and is generally Sarah’s dogsbody!
